Our Outpatient Rehabilitation program focuses on improving quality of life through Pulmonary Rehab. We believe in the power of exercise to restore and in its ability to rehabilitate lives. Our goal is to provide assistance to those who are suffering and hope to those who may need inspiration. We believe in our patients and their ability to achieve what they once thought impossible and are dedicated in making lifestyle changes that will help patients feel better faster and improve their day-to-day life. We offer a highly specialized treatment for individuals suffering from chronic respiratory illnesses. Our mission is to provide a quality, comprehensive rehabilitation program to meet the needs of the individual patient participating in our program, while adhering to the highest professional ethics and standards.

 

Meet Our Team

Chris_forweb Christopher Brown, PT, DPT, MS, CSCS
A native Houstonian, Christopher began his career in physical therapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center treating patients across a variety diagnoses in the oncology setting, participating in research studies, educational programs, and serving in various leadership roles. He later continued his practice in the Kindred Healthcare system specializing in long-term acute care. During his time as a physical therapist, he has earned his Masters of Science (M.S.), clinical doctorate (D.P.T), and is currently a PhD student at Texas Woman’s University. He will also be seeking the Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Specialist Certification in 2015. Prior to changing careers to become a physical therapist, Christopher worked in basic research as a molecular biologist at institutions such as Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine, co-authoring several publications. A lifelong exercise, fitness, wellness, and sport enthusiast, Christopher draws from a diverse set of personal and professional experiences in areas such as traditional exercise science, biomechanics, yoga, and martial arts. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) with the National Strength & Conditioning Association, a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and an APTA section member in the areas of acute care, cardiopulmonary PT, oncology, and research. Christopher truly enjoys sharing his expertise with his patients, especially in the area of teaching his patients how to retrain their breathing and improve their quality of life.

Kim House, PT
Kim is a board certified Physical Therapist at our Woodlands location. Kim comes to BCH with more than 11 years of experience, having served in a variety of settings including LTAC and Outpatient. Most recently she served as the full time PT for AMG Specialty Hospital in Louisiana. She has expertise in joint replacements, shoulder injuries, knee injuries, ankle injuries, elbow injuries, CVA, pediatrics, Parkinson’s wound care and VAC placement. Her more recent accomplishments have included PT team leader of the Safe Strides balance program with Gentiva Home Health Company in Lafayette, LA; where she was acting therapy manager, which included administrative, business development and clinical responsibilities. Kim received a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from McNeese State University and a Master’s Degree from LSU Health Science Center. Her personal dedication to the field of Physical Therapy is evident in her treatment style and her ability to progress patients to reach their goals.

Mansi Shah, PT
Mansi is a board certified Physical Therapist at our Bellaire location. She received a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy (B.P.T.) from Rajiv Gandhi University in India. She has served in a variety of unique settings such as outpatient orthopedics, home health, Hospitals, and Multi-specialty physical therapy clinics before narrowing her focus on Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. Mansi has attended several conferences to increase her clinical skills and knowledge regarding Vestibular Rehabilitation and participated in a workshop for “Stroke Rehabilitation Task Oriented Approach”. She has completed certified courses in Manual Therapy and Clinical Reasoning Perspective. In addition, Mansi has conducted educational exercise programs focused on fitness and posture and arranged physical play activities for paraplegic patients. As part of a multidisciplinary case-management team, Mansi is sincerely committed to delivering quality care and achieving superior outcomes with her patients.

jason cliftonJason Clifton, PTA
Jason is a board certified Physical Therapist Assistant at our Bellaire location. He received his educational background from Houston Community College graduating with an Associates in Applied Science and received his bachelors of science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Houston. Jason also brings an extensive background and expertise to outpatient rehabilitation. He has had many hours of training from The Methodist Hospital, Health South, and West Houston Medical Center. He continues to show his dedication to the patient’s well-being in implementing a “patient-first” treatment style. To further perfect his treatment approach Jason spends his weekends working for The Methodist Hospital in Sugarland Texas. His drive for helping patients has also led him to pursue a Drug Rehabilitation Certificate to further help those in need.

Rendell Lucille, PTA, CSCS
Rendell is a board certified Physical Therapist Assistant at our Bellaire location. He received his educational background from Houston Community College graduating with an Associates in Applied Science and received his bachelors of science (B.S.) in Kinesiology from the University of Houston. Rendell brings many years of experience and expertise in treating patients here at the Breathing Center of Houston. His extensive background comes from treating patients in a variety of settings such as the Methodist Sports Medicine Center, Inpatient rehabilitation at Methodist Hospital, and as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He holds numerous certifications as a Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is a certified Personal Trainer. Rendell’s dynamic approach and proven track record with his patient’s make him one of the best and we are happy to have him as part of the BCH team.

 

 

Deborah Topasna, PTA 
Deborah is a board certified Physical Therapist Assistant at our Bellaire location. She received her educational background from Lone Star College with an Associates in Applied Science. Her professional background includes orthopedic outpatient, worker’s compensation, aquatic therapy, and pain management programs. She is working towards becoming a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner and plans to continue her education at the University of Houston in the fall to obtain a B.S in Kinesiology. She believes in treating her patients in a holistic manner and pushes her patients to reach their full potential so they can live better lives. As a proponent in strength training she enjoys lifting weights in her free time. Deborah’s dedication to her field of practice is evident by her proven track record and the array of treatment exercises she is skilled in. We are happy to have her as part of the BCH team.

Sarah Cullum, PTA
Sarah is a board certified Physical Therapist Assistant at our Woodlands location. She received her educational background from Blinn College with an Associates in Applied Science and was President of her class. She also received her bachelors of science (B.S.) in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University. Sarah has treated patients in a variety of settings including Acute Care, LTACH, and Skilled Nursing facilities. Her extensive knowledge of Physical Therapy comes from a variety of leadership positions that she has previously held including the Director of Rehab at a Skilled Nursing Facility. Her unique outlook on Physical Therapy from the front office to treating patients on the floor make her a valuable asset to both her patient’s and the BCH team.

Annie Frazier, PTA annie frazier
Annie is a board certified Physical Therapist Assistant at our Woodlands location. She received her educational background from Lone Star College with an Associates in Applied Science. Her extensive background includes both Inpatient and Outpatient settings where she assisted patients anywhere from aquatic therapy to orthopedic recovery. Annie brings a lot of experience to the BCH team with a unique skillset in Gait and Balance training. She continues to implement very successful treatment plans with her patients and has a very solid track record with those she treats.

Haylee Fracht, PTA
Haylee is a board certified Physical Therapist Assistant at our Katy Fwy location. She received her educational background from Blinn College with an Associates in Applied Science. She also received her bachelors of science (B.S.) in Health from Texas A&M University where she was on the Dean’s list and was the recipient of the Health & Kinesiology Scholarship. Haylee’s clinical experiences have included Outpatient, Skilled Nursing, and Sports medicine settings. She has also gained valuable experience in the Cardiopulmonary program at CHI St Joseph in Grimes County. Haylee’s outgoing personality and exceptional interpersonal skills combined with her clinical knowledge makes her a valuable asset to the BCH team.

 

 

Waisha Maddux, Administrative Assistant  
Waisha is our Administrative Assistant at our Woodlands location. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Brigham Young University  and is currently pursuing her Masters from Sam Houston State University. With a background as a Resident Care Associate she is well equipped  in facilitating the efficient operation of the BCH team.

Desiree Christy, Administrative Assistant
Desiree is our Administrative Assistant at our Beechnut location. She received her Associates degree from Salt Lake community college where she was an honor student. Desiree comes to BCH with an extensive background in medical billing and managing. She was an office manager for five years at Daynes Eye & Lasik where she ran everything from billing to front office. In addition to her managing experience Desiree comes to BCH with a knowledge in Healthcare Billing and Coding. She has a high end customer service skillset that combined with her managing experience make her a valuable asset to the BCH team.
